I live in New York City, along with over 8 million of you, and I am regularly impressed at the courtesy, unspoken etiquette, and codes of conduct that allow us to live within such close proximity of each other, to commute in such close proximity to each other, to dine, run, cycle, shop, yoga, and even sometimes just breathe (you know those elevators that are so crowded that the doors won't close if you don't suck in, and if someone sneezes you are protected from the total onslaught of the spray by the 5 strangers pressing into you) within such close proximity of each other. That doesn't mean it doesn't get gross out there - there are some particularly unsavory aspects of life in the city and I think we might (or at least I will) feel a bit better about it if we can communally laugh at the nastiness. Unity arising in reaction to the grossness.
So please help me use this as forum for sharing the crude, sad, slimy, smelly, oozing bits of city life, and in doing so, brighten your mood. Until you get back on the subway at least.
